NATO supports Armenian-Turkish normalization

NATO supports the process of normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations, aimed at establishment of diplomatic ties and opening of the border, NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia stated.

“It’s very useful when members and partners of NATO have an opportunity to cooperate. I mean the participation of Turkey in Armenia 2010 exercise,” Robert Simmons told reporters in Yerevan.

However, he noted, Armenia and Turkey should themselves decide on the pace of reconciliation.
