Armenia starts World Chess Olympiad with victories

Armenian chess players scored a 3:1 victory over Costa Rica in the 1st round of the 39th World Chess Olympiad, currently holding the 6th place.

Gabriel Sargissian and Avetik Grigorian won their 1st round games. Vladimir Akopian and Arman Pashikian tied the matches.

In the 2nd round, Armenian men will rival Australia.

Armenian women defeated the team of the International Physically Disabled Chess Association (IPCA) 3.5:0,5, to play against the Czech Republic in the 2nd round.
