Alexander Arzumanyan: crucial moment for Karabakh conflict settlement has not yet come

Leaving the bill on recognition of NKR independence on parliamentary agenda spells the official Yerevan’s address to international community, suggesting Armenia can recognize Artsakh independence in case of necessity, former NKR Foreign Minister Alexander Arzumanyan stated.

As he told a news conference in Yerevan, “I agree that recognition of Artsakh in near future can hamper the process initiated within OSCE MG framework. As for the presidential meeting in Astrakhan, I believe that Russia has once again reminded the world that Moscow can provide the key to Karabakh conflict settlement.”

The ex-Foreign Minister forecasted no serious alterations as a result of Astana summit. As he noted, the crucial moment for Karabakh conflict settlement has not yet come.

Dwelling on internal political situation in Armenia, Arzumanyan noted, “experience shows that extraordinary presidential elections in former USSR states suggest a force majeure situation.
