Popular actor Yervand Manaryan and director of Sardatapat opposition movement Tigran Khzmalyan are looking for enthusiasts to stop illegal uranium mine exploration in Syunik province of Armenia.

The cultural workers called on all to join the rally in Kapan on November 11 to protest against the mining which represents a deadly danger for the local population.

“The land is being dug over while the profit is appropriated,” Manaryan said.

“The mineral wealth should be used for the welfare of the people but not to harm them,” Khzmalyan added.
