For great desert to Armenians, particularly for organization of help after Spitak earthquake in 1988, Science Academy of Armenia decided to award Nikolay Rijkov and Oleg Lobov the honorary title of Doctor. The Academy also awarded the honorary title of Doctor Karapet Aandranikian and Armenian American, immunologist, Michael Agadjanian for teamwork research achievements; chief anesthetist of Russia Armen Buniatian; Gankrlo Poliariny (Italy) and Artem Ohangianian (Austria) for service of the elucidation of Armenian question.
