Armenia has become a party to the WTO Agreement on Government Procurement (GPA), as per a unanimous decision adopted during a sitting of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Committee on Government Procurement in Geneva, the press service of the RA Ministry of Finance reported.
As part of reforms in the system of government procurement, the RA government has drafted a new bill on Government Procurement and submitted it to the RA National Assembly. In case of its adoption, the Armenian legislation will be brought to compliance with international standards.
As Armenia has become a party to the Agreement, it will allow Armenian producers to participate in international competitions on equal terms along with 45 member states of the Agreement, what will facilitate production expansion and search of new sales markets for Armenian producers.
