Armenia is tackling unemployment, according to head of the state employment service Sona Harutyunyan.
As of December 1, 2010, the level of unemployment in the republic decreased by 0.4% to make 6.9%. In Yerevan the figure reaches 8.1%.
“10515 people (what is 18.6% more compared to the same period in 2009) have been employed since the beginning of the year. 2762 of them are young people,” Harutyunyan told journalists on December 14.
“Presently, 20467 people get unemployment benefits,” she said.
According to Harutyunyan, the following professions are in demand in Armenia: doctors, engineers, architects, nurses, accountants, cashiers, cooks, drivers, stylists, hairdressers and some others.
