Simon Ainejian: adoption of H.Res.252 not as important as a chance to raise the issue

Adoption of the Armenian Genocide resolution, H.Res. 252, by the U.S. Congress is not as important as having a chance to raise the issue. Increasing public awareness on the Armenian Genocide is the only way towards its international recognition, according to Gibrahayer magazine editor-in-chief Simon Ainejian

As he stressed in a conversation with a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, Americans are perfectly aware of 1915 extermination of Armenians. “Barack Obama, similarly to Congressmen voting against H.Res. 252, might be guided by political motifs; however, we should persist in raising the issue. We should keep trying, as there’s no other way,” he stressed.

H.R. 252 on Armenian Genocide might be put to vote in U.S. House of Representatives on December 22. This is the last chance for the House of Representatives to vote before Congress dissolution.
