PM Sargsyan: COCA-COLA’s water purification system exemplary for other companies

On January 18, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, accompanied by Deputy Minister of Economy Karine Minasyan and Head of the RA State Committee for Water Industry Andranik Andreasyan, participated in the opening ceremony of the new unique water treatment plant launched by COCA-COLA HELLENIC BOTTLING COMPANY ARMENIA.

Water is purified at the plant in compliance with international standards and to the level that the water returned to the environment is completely appropriate for flora and fauna.

Mr. Sargsyan also familiarized himself with the production process of Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite and Bonaqua drinks. “Our visit is aimed at studying the experience of COCA-COCA in water treatment with application of international standards. We should bring this experience to other companies as well,” he said.

The company was established 15 years ago. It has been expanding its capacity and production volumes from year to year. Currently, COCA-COLA HELLENIC BOTTLING COMPANY ARMENIA employs 318 people, while the number of jobs created by the company in Armenia totals 3,000 people. In 2010, the company fulfilled its tax liabilities to the state budget at the amount of AMD 2bln and is among the largest taxpayers of the country.
