Sculptor Mehmet Aksoy, the designer of the Monument to Humanity, demands that the Kars municipal decision on the monument demolition should be nullified.

According to Zaman, the decision has been already sent to the Kars regional administration and will be implemented after the ratification.

The decision came after Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan labeled the statue as “monstrous.”
