Armenian National Movement board chairman Aram Manukyan hailed Heritage party leader Raffi Hovannisian’s hunger initiative.
“Indefinite hunger strike is a hazardous venture. I wouldn’t dare such myself,” he told a news conference on March 16.
“The population of Armenia will have to go on hunger strike because of the inflated prices,” Manukyan added.
During the extraordinary congress of Heritage, Hovannisian urged Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan to resign and thus to ensure fair and independent elections in the country. He also announced the start of “Hungry for Change: Freedom and Justice in Armenia” hunger strike and promised to coordinate his future steps with the party members.
