Iran has always expressed readiness for a dialogue on peaceful use of nuclear energy and its right for the development of a peaceful nuclear program. Iran’s negotiations with the 5 +1 Group were held with that purpose in mind, a statement of the Iranian Embassy to Armenia, obtained by PanARMENIAN.Net says.

“In the course of the last 23 years, the people and the government of Iran proved that they won’t be pressured into giving up their undisputable rights,” the statement says. According to the Iranian Embassy, the UN Security Council resolutions on Iranian nuclear issue were adopted under the political pressure of western states, thus having no legal force.

At March 23 news conference, the U.S. Ambassador to Armenia, Marie Yovanovitch stated that the international community, U.S. and the 5+1 group hope for Iran to resume negotiations and fulfill its international obligations.

“It would be appropriate for the U.S. Ambassador to assume responsibility for the use of double standards in Gaza Strip, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Iraq and Libya, instead of trying to change public opinion,” the statement concluded.
