Javakhk doesn’t plan a conflict with Georgian authorities

The people in Javakhk do not plan to conflict with the Georgian authorities, said Artak Gabrielyan, head of A-info news agency and member of Javakhk council of public organizations.

“Armenians have always supported the Georgian state,” he said, citing the conduct of the Armenian community during the 2008 war with Russia as a proof. “Javakhk should become a friendly bridge between Armenia and Georgia.”

However, he emphasized that the policy of ousting Armenians from Georgia has been even intensified since the period of Zviad Gamsakhurdia’s rule.

Head of Upland organization Valery Arabyan, in turn, said that the friendly relations between Armenia and Georgia should be used to improve the situation in Javakhk.
