TALKS OVER NEW PROPOSALS ON KARABAKH CONFLICT SETTLEMENT ARE UNTIMELY, ARMENIAN MINISTER SAID
YEREVAN, February 27. /Mediamax/. Today the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Vardan Oskanian named "untimely" the talks over new proposals for Karabakh conflict settlement.
Minister Oskanian told the journalists that at the meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents, held Jan. 26 in Paris, the matter was exclusively about "the most important principles" of settlement. In case if agreement is achieved on these principles, the minister said, they will become a document basis for negotiations.
Despite the fact that there is "certain positive advance", there is no final agreement on these principles yet, Armenian Foreign Minister stressed. Oskanian voiced his hope that at the upcoming meeting of the Armenian and Azeri presidents in Paris on March 4-5 the favorable atmosphere, formed during the last meetings of the two leaders, will be preserved.
The Foreign Minister of Armenia said that the activation of the settlement process is caused not by foreign pressure, but by the interest of the world community and the conflicting sides themselves in the soonest settlement of the dispute over Nagorno Karabakh. --0--
