ARMENIAN FOREIGN MINISTER FINDS HARD TO FORECAST KARABAKH SETTLEMENT
It is hard to make forecasts over the prospects of the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, everything will depend on developments in Azerbaijan. Armenian foreign minister Vardan Oskanian said in an interview to "Free Artsakh" newspaper. In his words, Armenia is ready to continue negotiations proceeding from the framework already formed for achieving peace not contradicting its national interests. The minister considers that although the attention of superpowers is riveted towards Iraq, the Karabakh conflict settlement did not suffer. At the same time Vardan Oskanian expressed confidence that the negotiations ceased due to election in Armenia and Azerbaijan will be continued. The Armenian foreign ministry head also pointed out that positive shifts were registered resulting from the meetings of the two presidents, which opened wide opportunities for the conflict final settlement.
