AZERIS PICKETED TURKISH EMBASSY
A protest action was held in front of the Turkish embassy in Baku yesterday. As reported by Baku media, representatives of the Democratic and other opposition parties of Azerbaijan expressed their dissatisfaction with the official Ankara stand over the "illegal" transfer of the power from Heydar Aliyev to his son Ilham. The picketers passed a resolution containing a call on Ankara to base relations with Azerbaijan on democratic principles, censure "the seizure of power" and support democratic election in Azerbaijan. At that the meeting participants scanned "Heydar - forger," "Ilham, go away." Opposition representatives also protested against "virtual support of usurpation of power in Azerbaijan by official Washington." The picket resolution demands holding just and democratic presidential election and censuring the authorities' actions.
