FIFA bans six referees for life

Football's world governing body FIFA has banned six referees for life after finding them guilty of match-fixing in a tournament where all the goals scored were from penalties.

Charges were brought against the officials, from Hungary and Bosnia, after two friendly matches in Turkey. The Hungarian referees are being held by police in their country.

The officials were found guilty of "passive corruption" and "unlawfully influencing match results" by FIFA's disciplinary committee, BBC Sport reported.
