ARMENIAN FOREIGN MINISTRY EXPRESSED REGRET ON THE DECISION OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES NOT TO DISCUSS THE ARMENIAN RESOLUTION
20.10.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The Foreign Ministry of Armenia expresses regret on the fact that the Armenian Resolution was taken off from the agenda of the U.S. Congress House of Representatives, says the statement of Armenian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ara Papian.
"Irrespective of this Resolution Armenia has always called upon Turkey to start a dialogue to discuss the Genocide problem and to normalize our relations. On October 3 the U.S. State Department also called on Armenia and Turkey to start a dialogue on the Genocide issue. Armenia still thinks that the best way to discuss this question is an Armenian-Turkish dialogue and hopes that Turkey will also respond to this appeal", said the Armenian diplomat. -0-
