TURKISH AMBASSADOR TO AZERBAIJAN SAID THAT THE MATTER IS NOT IN SANCTIONS WHICH TURKEY CAN IMPOSE ON ARMENIA BUT IN OPPORTUNITIS THAT ARMENIA LOOSES
20.10.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. "It is hard for me to speak about the possible measures that Turkey may undertake as of the discussion of the Armenian Genocide bill in the US House. I can just say that it is Armenia that will suffer from inconveniences," Hadri Ecvet Tecan, the Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan said to the Azeri Caspian news agency.
"The matter is not that the sanctions that Turkey can impose on Armenia but the opportunities that Armenian looses. Armenia deprives herself from its prosperity, which may bring to the peace and stability in the region. We know that 30% of the Armenian population has left the state. The possible wellbeing of Armenians depends on the peace in the region," the Turkish diplomate stated. --0--
