On the threshold of Vic Darchinyan vs. Evans Mbamba clash in Yerevan’s Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex on September 3, the Armenian capital hosted a news conference of the two boxers.

“I’ve waited 2 years to face Darchinyan, and now finally my dream’s fulfilled. I’ve gone to great effort to prepare myself for the clash; I’m ready to make the history of box,” the South African boxer Mbamba said.

Darchinyan retorted, “Mbamba’s crashing defeat will be something to go down the history. I’ve been training for 16 weeks and am, definitely, in better shape. No matter how strong my rival is, I’ll be the one to send him to the floor”

“I’m sure the show will be a magnificent one,” the Armenian boxer said.

The boxers’ weigh-in is due September 2.
