BEFORE OCTOBER 27, 1999 ARMENIAN REPRESENTATIVES WERE WARNED FROM THE OUTSIDE ABOUT A TERRORIST ACT, DECLARES THE ARMENIAN POLITICIAN
18.10.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. "Before October 27, 1999, when the prime minister and the speaker of the parliament were killed, certain country officially warned Armenia that a terrorist act was being prepared", said today the political secretary of the Socialist Union of Armenia Ashot Manucharian at a press conference in Yerevan. According to him, he is not sure whether top authorities of the country were informed about this or not, but this warning information was undoubtedly true. At the same time Manucharian refused to name the country, which had warned Armenia.
Ashot Manucharian, who had earlier declared that Western special services were involved in the terrorist acts of October 27, 1999 in Armenia and of March 22, 2000 in Karabakh (the assassination attempt upon RNK president Arkady Ghukasian), stated today that the special services of the USA and France are acting to destroy Armenia, and in this context, they are much likely to be involved in the realization of the terrorist acts in Armenia and Karabakh.
Manucharian also said that he is much worried about the circumstance that "a number of "Dashnaktsutiun" party leaders are acting in the interest of the American foreign policy".
In early 90s Ashot Manucharian held the posts of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Armenia and President Ter-Petrossian's Adviser on national security issues. -0-
