RUSSIA WILL REMOVE 76 UNITS OF MILITARY TECHNIQUES FROM GEORGIA TO ARMENIA
13.10.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. Restationing of 76 units of military techniques from the 62nd Akhalkalaki base to 102nd Gyumri (Armenia) base of Russian Troops Group in Transcaucasus will be realized in several stages between October 20 to November 13.
As the Chief of the press center of RTGT, Colonel Alexander Lutskevich told Prime News, the removal of the technique from Georgia is being realized within the framework of decisions, taken at OSCE summit in Istanbul last November. He noted that the transfer of military techniques is realized in accord with Armenia and Georgia. According to him, there are no tanks among the technique to be removed, mainly infantry military cars are transferred.
According to the information of Georgian military experts, more than 40 tanks, 100 armored cars and 70 artillery systems are stationed in Akhalkalaki base. -0-
