Armenian-Syrian relations not endangered, diplomat says

The Armenian-Syrian relations are not endangered, a diplomat said.

According to former Armenia’s ambassador to Syria David Hovhannisyan, internal tensions cannot somehow affect the status of Armenian-Syrian relations.

The Armenian community of Syria was formed by the 1915 Genocide survivors and numbers about 65-70 thousand people. Local Armenians enjoy good reputation and are praised for engagement in the political and social activities of the country.
