THE POSSIBLE REDISTRIBUTION OF FORCES IN THE PARLIAMENT DOES NOT BOTHER THE PM OF ARMENIA
23.08.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. In May 2000 the People's Party, entering "Unity" bloc with the Republican Party, didn't support the candidacy of the premier, but stated about its readiness to cooperate with the government. However, the People's Party later began to openly oppose the Republican Party and the government, declared today the leader of the Republican party of Armenia, Premier Andranik Margarian at the press conference dedicated to the 100 days of government's activity.
Connected with that the premier didn't exclude that in the near future the question whether it is expedient for the representatives of the People's Party to stay in the government and parliament leadership will be considered. Andranik Margarian didn't deny that this was why several deputy ministers representing the People's Party were released from their posts.
Armenian premier said that today "Unity" bloc exists only formally. However, he noted that the Republican Party is not going to form new blocs or alliances. "At the formation of the government during these last 3 months we have been productively cooperating not only with the Republicans, but with "Dashnaktsutiun", National-Democratic Union, "Orinatz Yerkir" factions and "Stability" and "Armenia deputy groups as well", said the head of the government. He expressed confidence that this cooperation will be continued in future as well and that the government will not be deprived of Parliament's support in case of redistribution of forces in the National Assembly. -0-
