LEONID KUCHMA DECLARED THAT WITH THE OPENING OF NEW TRANSPORT HIGHWAYS A "GOOD PERSPECTIVE" FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF ARMENIAN-UKRAINIAN RELATIONS ARISES
19.08.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. Summing up the results of the meeting of the presidents of Ukraine and Armenia, which took place on August 18 in Yalta, Leonid Kuchma, characterizing the present status of the Ukrainian-Armenian relations, named "pleasing the fact that the commodity circulation between the two countries has positive tendencies to a rise".
L. Kuchma also informed that Armenian Premier will visit Ukraine in October, and an Agreement on economic cooperation in 2000-2009 will be signed in the course of the visit, was reported to MEDIAMAX in the embassy of the Ukraine in Armenia.
Ukrainian president noted that the restoration of new principle co-operative ties, as well as the return of the traditional Ukrainian goods to the Armenian market are the perspective directions in the Armenian-Ukrainian bilateral economic relations.
He also said that a "good perspective" for the development of cooperation between the two countries arises, as new transport highways, including the international car ferry Ilyichovsk-Poti, are being opened.-0-
