Google launches Person Finder service in Turkish

Global search engine Google has established its Person Finder service in Turkish for those affected by the severe earthquake that struck eastern Turkey on October 23.

Google Person Finder allows the users to either post information they have on victims or to follow up on their relatives and friends who have been stuck in earthquake sites. The site aims to allow people to look for updates on others through an online database in which every tip received is recorded under the names of the victims.

Person Finder has been used before for earthquakes in Haiti and Japan.

The service may be reached through: http://turkey-2011.googlepersonfinder.appspot.com/, Hurriyet Daily News reported.
