
The Euro-Atlantic Council established in Azerbaijan intends to set up its regional offices.
EAC chairman Sulhetdin Akbar has informed today that the Council has no political goals and will serve to development of democratic principles in Azerbaijan.
"In this regard, we are going to set up regional and district centres of the Euro-Atlantic Council to enlighten the local population about principles of democracy, the social benefits for the country’s population as a result of democratic society development in the country," he emphasized.
As Akbar noted, EAC hopes for support of international organizations interested in promoting democracy and democratic reforms in Azerbaijan.
"We intend to carry out public activities in accordance with the laws of the country and on the basis of the relevant paragraphs of the National Security Concept of Azerbaijan," he stressed, according to abc.az.
The activities of the Council will also focus on the development of ties with NATO and EU. The inaugural meeting of Council was held on October 27.
