A group of scientists of Russian Academy of Science addressed to their colleagues from Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan with an offer to establish Caspian States Organization on complex development of natural resources and protection of environment, was reported to MEDIAMAX in the Information and Press Department of the ministry of foreign affairs of Russia.
The Russian scientists expressed "extreme anxiety about the present situation in Caspian region due to active works on development of sources of raw materials and minerals of the Caspian Sea".
The research centers of the Russian Academy of Science, realizing the monitoring of the condition of the Caspian Sea water resources (including cosmic monitoring), mark the rise of the pollution level of the Caspian basin and the deterioration of ecological situation in the region as a whole. Obvious signs of imminent biological calamity, which will result in complete loss of biological resources, were fixed, reads the statement.
Appealing to the scientific circles of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, the Russian scientists suggest forming Caspian States Organization on complex development of natural resources and protection of environment, which will provide the realization of nature-protecting activities in the Caspian basin, with the formation of the necessary legal field for it. -0-
