YEREVAN AND GYUMRI WILL REMAIN THE MAIN POINTS OF DISLOCATION OF THE 102ND RUSSIAN MILITARY BASE IN ARMENIA
19.07.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The project of the protocol between Russia and Armenia about the amendments into the bilateral Agreement of the disposition of the 102nd Russian military base, approved by the government of the RF, is finally coordinated with the Armenian side.
As an informed source in the Russian military department reported to the correspondent of the Agency of military news, this was realized by the head of the Chief operation department - the first deputy head of the General headquarters of the Armed forces of RF Colonel-General Yury Baluyevsky during the meetings in Yerevan with the minister of defense of Armenia Serzh Sarkisian and other officials of the government of the republic.
In accordance with the protocol, the sub-units of the 102nd Russian military base will be stationed in Yerevan, Gyumri (former Leninakan), and also in a number of small settlements of the republic. The document will come into force after its signing by the heads of the governments of Armenia and Russia.
