Taron Margaryan, the only designate of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), was unanimously elected as the Mayor of Yerevan on November 15.

“The RPA executive body and political council as well as the party’s representative group at the city council decided to nominate Taron Margaryan to the post of the Mayor of Yerevan,” RPA member Derenik Dumanyan said earlier.

Former Mayor Karen Karapetyan resigned on October 28.
