ARMENIAN PRESIDENT TO PARTICIPATE IN COLLECTIVE SECURITY COUNCIL IN DUSHANBE
The Armenian delegation headed by president Robert Kocharian will participate in the coming session of the Collective Security Council at the level of heads of Treaty on Collective Security (TCS) participant states in Dushanbe April 27-28. Armenian defense minister Serge Sargsian told journalists today. As reported by "De Facto" agency, drafts of documents regulating the activities of the military and political Organization of the Treaty on Collective Security (OTCS) will be considered at the session. Besides, the issue of formation of united OTCS headquarters by January 1, 2004 will be highlighted at the joint sitting of foreign and defense ministers, as well as at the meeting of heads of the TCS member states. The body is expected to deal with all the military aspects of the OTCS, specifically, collective forces of rapid deployment in Central Asia, military and engineering cooperation, planning of military exercises, operative military training, etc. Documents on interaction in securing a united rail line, as well as military and engineering cooperation are planned to be signed upon the completion of the sittings. Let us note the TCS includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
