Lavrov calls on Yerevan, Baku to ‘make use’ of proposals on Karabakh

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called on the parties to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict to ‘make use’ of the proposals developed as result of meetings initiated by Russia’s President Dmitry Medvedev.

As a PanARMENIAN.Net correspondent reported from Vilnius, when addressing the 18th OSCE ministerial council in the Lithuanian capital, the Russian FM reminded that these proposals were welcomed by Presidents of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair states in Deauville.

Barack Obama , Nicolas Sarkozy and Dmitry Medvedev adopted a statement on the Karabakh conflict settlement on the sidelines of G8 summit in the French resort on May 26. The three Presidents firmly called on the Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders “to demonstrate political will and finalize...the basic principles of a peace agreement.”
