Yerevan hosts conference on regulation

The international conference “Better regulation: Challenges and Trends” took place in Yerevan on December 7.

The event was initiated by the Armenian Ministry of Economy, with the support of HAUS Finnish Institute of Public management and financials assistance of the European Union. It was organized in the framework of the EU Twinning project.

According to First Deputy Economy Minister Karine Minasyan, better regulation also means better laws. “Better laws help save taxpayers’ money and time, reduce bureaucracy and make the business environment more attractive for both local and foreign entrepreneurs,” she said.

During the conference, experts introduced regulatory impact assessment in Armenia, tools for improving legal environment, best practices of public management in EU countries and the “Regulatory Guillotine” – a tool for improving regulatory quality and ensuring administrative simplification in the EU.
