The ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) believes itself to be a favorite at the oncoming parliamentary race, according to National Assembly vice speaker, RPA press secretary Eduard Sharmazanov.
“The results of local government elections, our meeting with the public, opinion polls – all of it proves the overwhelming majority of Armenian voters trust RPA, led by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, to solve their problems,” Sharmazanov told a news conference in Yerevan.
However, the politician refrained to assess other political forces’ chances for parliamentary seats.
Also, Sharmazanov warned against drawing parallels between parliamentary elections in Armenia and Russia, “Moscow’s realities and issues having nothing in common with those of official Yerevan.”
