On December 22, several Turkish nationalist associations plan to hold a protest action before the French parliament building against the bill penalizing the Armenian Genocide denial.

As French freelance journalist Jean Eckian told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, an appeal was launched on the Internet claiming that: "adoption of the bill will violate freedom of speech, which is a global value. Let the history to the historians."

A draft law envisaging a one-year prison sentence and 45,000 euro fine for denying the Armenian Genocide is due to go before French parliament on December 22.
