Talks with EU on joining Free Trade Agreement last 3-5 years, as a rule, and it is premature now to speak about consequences, when Armenia is only next to announce the start, RA Minister of Economy said.
EU Trade Commission is expected to make a decision in Feb. 2012, on Armenia's competence to commence talks on joining the named agreement within the framework of the Association Agreement.
“3-5 years is a decent period for certain changes to take place in the world economy and in the region. Moreover, talks suggest development on pre-conditions and conditions and the final agreement, and this process will begin both for Armenia and Georgia,” Tigran Davtyan told a press conference in Yerevan on Jan 24.
The third country which Armenia and Georgia step parallel on their way to European integration is Moldova.
According to Davtyan, Armenian companies would rather use their own resources for entering Europe than the platform of any neighboring country.
