The National Academy of Sciences of Armenia today marks its 60-th anniversary. As president Robert Kocharian reported at the jubilee measure, Armenia should become the scientific center of the region, and the National Academy of Sciences - be its basis. "Today also science is an important factor, which will help Armenia become a modern country," the president noted, pledging contribution to further development of the Academy. Presidents of Academies of Sciences of Russia, Georgia, Ukraine, Tajikistan, representatives of international organizations participated in the measure.
