BAKU-TBILISI-CEYKHAN OIL PIPELINE BEING CONSTRUCTED IN TERRITORY OF ARCHEOLOGICAL VALUE IN GEORGIA
An ancient settlement was discovered in the course of construction works of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceykhan oil pipeline in the environs of the village of Tapatskhuri (Samtskhe-Javakhetia) inhabited by Armenians. During the first day of the archeological dig carried out by the expedition from Tbilisi skeletons, ornaments and broken pieces of clay pottery were found. As the expedition members told A-info agency, involving new specialists in the works would allow to give more accurate information. Meanwhile, it is known that the archeological finds belong to the 7-th century A.D.
