Armenia steps into a complicated period of parliamentary race, however there is no linkage between visa facilitation talks with the EU and domestic policy developments, according to head of the EU Delegation in Armenia.

“Forthcoming elections will test Armenian authorities’ relations with the EU. However, linkage between negotiation outcomes and parliamentary elections is a mere speculation,” Traian Hristea said at a briefing in Yerevan on negotiations on visa facilitation and readmission.

Today, on February 27, talks on visa facilitation and readmission with the EU kicked off in Yerevan. Last week the EU-Armenia negotiations on free-trade zone creation were launched.
