Jerry Maguire star Cuba Gooding Jr. may be heading to a television screen, as the memorable Oscar-winner has been tapped to star in Fox’s Greg Berlanti legal drama pilot, Guilty, Screenrant reported.
Guilty follows the life of William “Billy” Remz (Gooding), a morally ambiguous defense attorney who, after being falsely convicted of fraud, is stripped of his license to practice law. Billy will use his unorthodox legal techniques to solve cases that he’s been banned from handling, all the while moving closer to exacting revenge upon those who framed him.
Alongside Gooding Jr, the Fox pilot will co-star Pretty Little Liars actor Julian Morri, as well as Eva Amurri Martino (Californication), who will play Lily, another attorney who will work closely with Billy. The courtroom drama will be written and produced by Brothers & Sisters producer Greg Berlanti and his Eli Stone co-writer Marc Guggenheim. Supernatural producer Peter Johnson will act as an executive producer on the project, with famed director McG tapped to direct the pilot.
