David Safaryan (66 kg) suffered a 0:4.defeat by Alan Gogaev (Russia) to vie for a bronze medal in the semifinal of European Freestyle Wrestling Championships. This was Safaryan’s third clash, prior to which he beat Georg Marchl (Austria) and Azerbaijani Emin Azizov.

In the struggle for the third place Armenian wrestler will face the winner of Adam Blok (Poland) - Yakup Gor (Turkey).

Mihran Jaburyan (55kg), Arthur Arakelyan , Musa Murtazaliyev (74kg), Hajimurad Nurmagometov (84 kg) and Ruslan Basiyev (120kg) will represent Armenia in the championships.
