Yerevan to have Indian Park

Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan met with the Ambassador of India to Armenia Achal Kumar Malhotra.

Stating the current high level of Armenian-Indian relations, the Mayor highlighted the importance of establishment and development of partnership ties between the local self-government bodies as well, Yerevan city administration’s press office said.

Voicing the municipality’s willingness to strengthen and expand cooperation with Delhi and other cities of India, Margaryan particularly emphasized the significance of establishing and developing ties in the fields of urban economy governance, staff training and IT.

“I am convinced that cooperation between Yerevan and cities of India will further continue in a new, more active way, and I expect support from both you and the Armenian ambassador in India,” Yerevan mayor said.

Ambassador Malhotra, for his part, voiced readiness to support the above-mentioned cooperation, as well as the implementation of educational and business programs.

Speaking about the project to establish a park named after India in Malatia-Sebastia district of Yerevan, Ambassador Malhotra pointed it was another proof of centuries-long friendship between the two countries.

Park construction will be launched upon approval by the Indian government.
