Past week was the week of intercultural cooperation

PanARMENIAN.Net - USSR People’s Artist Armen Jigarkhanyan has honored with Crystal Turandot, Moscow’s supreme theatrical award, for his merit and contribution to the theater. The awarding ceremony took place in New Opera Theater on June 12.

Armenian and Russian Museums are closely cooperating. Thus, the Museum of Russian Art and Russian Center for Arts and Science (Rossotrudnichestvo) organized a meeting of Yerevan’s intellectual elite to mark the Day of Russia.

It was also agreed that 20 paintings from Armenian National Gallery will be exposed in Moscow’s Pushkin Museum in September.

Meanwhile, Naregatsi Art Center hosted young Japanese photographer Hayato Imanishi’s exhibition. The exhibit featured pictures made during photographer’s journeys to China, Tibet, Nepal, India, Turkey, Georgia and Armenia. The photos showcased portray nature, local relics and praying people. “Armenian nature reminds me of my native town. Having discovered special spiritual charge in Armenia, I’m very pleased to exhibit my works here,” the photographer said.

Austria hosted official screening of Hovhannes Galstyan’s Bonded Parallels in the framework of best CIS films festival in Vienna.

20th Century Music Evening was held in Komitas Chamber Music Hall, with German violinist Ani Aghabekyan and famous Armenian cellist Levon Arakelyan performing. The program included works of Zoltan Kodaly, Paul Hindemith and Gagik Hovunts.

Armenian fashion student from the University of East London, Diane Gevorgian, has been selected from thousands of UK students to exhibit her collection If Looks Could Kill at Gala Graduate Fashion Week show finale. Diane has worked for Marc Jacobs in New York and is creating quite a buzz with her designs which contrast black fitted leather suits and metal decorated footwear.

So, the past week can be named the week of intercultural cooperation, covering CIS countries, Europe and even Japan.
