Produced by Mark Ronson and Tame Impala's Kevin Parker, "Perfect Illusion" leads a debut-filled top three, including Metallica's "Hardwired" and Shawn Mendes' "Mercy" which land on No. 2 and 3 respectively. On Wednesday, August 24, Gaga shared a mysterious black-and-white gif, possibly from "Perfect Illusion" music video, showing her lying on the green field alongside a man who plays guitar. Gaga announced her new single "Perfect Illusion" on August 17. In a recent interview with iHeart Radio's Music Summit, the Mother Monster shared details regarding her new music. According to the site, the song is "a cut that touches the highest of highs and lowest of lows in a relationship gone wrong, thus, the perfect illusion" and fits "alongside some of her best dance floor anthems." Gaga explained, "The song is about modern ecstasy... We found our sweet, simple, ragey way of saying it."
