Armenian amateur filmmakers’ works to be screened during UNICA festival

PanARMENIAN.Net - Head of the Armenian Center for Amateur Cinema Artashes Hohvannisyan said that Armenia has become a member of the UNICA (International Union of Non-Professional Cinema), what will allow it to participate in UNICA annual festivals.

Armenia will host National Festival of Amateur Cinema in April-June 2011, the winners of which will participate in the 73rd UNICA international festival in Luxemburg in 2011, Hovhannisyan told a press conference on September 16.

Young amateur filmmakers and students of the Institute of Theater and Cinema are eligible to participate in the National Festival of Non-Professional Cinema.

Artashes Hovhannisyan, who is a professional doctor, received UNICA festival’s Gold Medal in 1988.
