Libensky Brychtova exhibition closes in Yerevan

PanARMENIAN.Net - Yerevan-based Cafesjian Center for the Arts (CCA) announces the closure of the Libensky Brychtova: Silhouettes of the Тown exhibition on April 10, 2011.

The admission to the Eagle Gallery will be free for ten days before the closure: April 1-10, 2011.

Libensky Brychtova: Silhouettes of the Тown exhibition opened at the CCA on September 11, 2010 in the presence of artist Jaroslava Brychtova herself. The Libensky Brychtova sculptures, Silhouettes of the Town, express the response of the Czech couple Stanislav Libensky (1921-2002) and Jaroslava Brychtova (b. 1924) to the 1988 deadly earthquake in Armenia, which claimed the lives of thousands. The sculptures express the tragedy of human suffering.

The exhibition Libensky Brychtova: Silhouettes of the Town reveals the limitless creativity of the Czech couple and their ability to transform the medium of glass and create a unique expression of form through light and space. Stanislav Libensky (1921-2002) and Jaroslava Brychtova (b. 1924) gave a new meaning to the application of glass and explored new creative horizons for it.

This exhibition is yet another sign of the bond that exists between the famous Czech artists Stanislav Libensky and Jaroslava Brychtova and Armenia.
