Reconstruction of Ani won’t be effective without Armenian architects’ involvement

PanARMENIAN.Net - Reconstruction of Armenian monuments in Western Armenia suggests change in Turkish policy on Armenian cultural heritage, according to an architecture analyst.

“However, reconstruction can’t be effective without the involvement of Armenian experts,” Ashot Hakobyan told a news conference in Yerevan.

“Non-participation of Armenian experts results in distortion of Armenian architecture,” the expert said, citing reconstruction of Ani-based Palace of Paron, where the architects altered the initial image of the structure, having violated main rules of Armenian architecture.
