On the eve of the coming presidential elections in France the organizations of the country Armenian community addressed questions to the two main candidates - acting President Jacques Chirac and Prime Minister Lionel Jospin - regarding their attitude towards the attempts to deny the fact of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey, as well as the blockade against Armenia held by Turkey.

Famous journalist, Russian television academy President Vladimir Pozner has expressed his solidarity to "A1+" company, which was deprived of the right to broadcast on 37 decimetric frequency by the National commission on television and radio after the tender.

In particular some Armenian cloisters, as well as members of the Armenian Apostolic Church clergy are threatened.

Russian government has approved the project of agreement with Armenia on military information exchange.

A trial of the case against hijackers of Azerbaijan’s branch of the “Hisbut-Tahrir” international terrorist organization has started in Baku. We recall that 6 Azerbaijani citizens are being accused of an attempt to overthrow the state regime and to prepare terrorist acts using firearms. “Turan” agency of Baku informs that they are particularly accused of preparation of the terrorist acts against the U.S. Embassy and offices of international organizations in Baku. According to investigation materials, the members of the group, the center of which is in Palestine, under the pretence of religious propaganda were intending to change the political system of Azerbaijan and to create an Islamic state there.
