Apparently, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense has serious financial difficulties. A country that boasts of having rich oil and gas resources does not have enough money to sustain its armed forces. To solve the problem, President Heydar Aliyev recently signed a decree on creation of a Fund to help the national army. The government considers it the only way to feed its soldiers. “We hope that this way we will be able to satisfy the needs of the army,” Head of the press service of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense Ramiz Melikov said.
