9.6% consumer price growth reported in August 2010 in Armenia compared with last year

PanARMENIAN.Net - National Statistical Service of Armenia reported 1,3% inflation in consumer market in August as compared with July 2010. Foodstuff prices (including those for alcoholic beverages and cigarettes) increased by 2,3%, non-foods - by 0.1%. 0,2% growth was observed in service industry.

Consumer price index comprised 109.6% in August 2010 as compared with the same period in 2009. Foodstuff index (including alcoholic beverages and cigarettes) grossed 112,9%, non-foods - 107.1%, services - 105.7%; while the index of January-August 2010 consumer prices amounted to 107.7%, 105.6%, 111.8% and 107.8% respectively as compared with the same period in 2009.
